COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY AND ARCHITECTURE (CETA)
A Unique Learning Experience
Studying at CETA provides you with the opportunity to study under expert staff in a wide range of subjects. Our technology degrees are more operational-focused, whereas our engineering degrees are more design-focused and require a higher level of math. With so many programs available in our school, studying at CETA is a truly interdisciplinary experience for you to take advantage of.
Hands-On Learning Through Internships
Internships are a great way to put what you learn in the classroom into practice, and are an important part of any CETA degree. More than seventy percent of CETA students complete at least one internship before their graduation, with forty percent of internships leading to full-time positions as alumni.
Previous internship destinations include:
- NASA
- Pratt & Whitney
- Bauer
- Eversource
- General Dynamics Electric Boat
- A+M Architecture
Top Facilities
As a CETA student, you will benefit from working in our well-equipped labs, studios, and classrooms. The newly built 60,000-square-foot Hursey Center will include state-of-the-art facilities for CETA students, with labs for studying robotics, cybersecurity, and Internet of Things.
After You Graduate
Studying at CETA will prepare you for your future career. Previous CETA graduates have gone on to work at companies such as:
- NASA
- Pratt & Whitney
- Disney Imagineers
- NBS
- General Dynamics Electric Boat
- Turner Construction
- Bose
- Cigna
- IBM
How To Join CETA
You are able to study a degree at CETA as an international student by joining our International Pathway Program. You can progress to study an undergraduate degree by studying the International Year, or a graduate degree with the Master’s International Year.
If you meet our requirements, you may apply for direct entry to a CETA program.
This degree, accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, will prepare you for a variety of careers in architecture and construction. You will be able to study courses including:
- Building Systems for Architectural Design
- Architectural Computer Modelling and Rendering
- Design of Steel Structures for Architectural Design
- Construction Management
This is a unique combination degree with The Hartt School, teaching students the science of sound, such as: how it is produced, how it travels, and how it can be detected. It will prepare you to pursue professional careers in engineering or enter graduate school for further study in the field.
Upon graduation, you may end up in a career in:
- Audio Engineering
- Architectural Acoustics
- Musical Acoustics
- Noise Control and Sound Quality
- Bio-Engineering
This degree combines a robust mechanical engineering curriculum with the same core and elective classes of the Acoustical Engineering and Music program. Top employers of graduates of this degree include Apple, Bose, and Starkey Hearing Technologies.
There was a 100% job placement (or graduate school acceptance) rate following graduation for Acoustical Engineering & Music and Mechanical Engineering (Acoustics Concentration) graduates of the class of 2019.
